IA-58 Pucara "Falklands war "

Album image #1
The other day, for the first time in almost a thousand days, I travelled to Akihabara, Tokyo!
Of course my aim was to go to a model shop, where I found this kit on the shelves.

Album image #2
This is a "pure" vacuum kit without resin or white metal parts.
I'll never forget the subtle look on my friend's face when I bought this, as if to say "Why are you buying that?".

Album image #3
All parts look like this.
There's no way in hell they'd even make the landing gear a part of the vacuum kit...

Album image #4
There is a thin convex mould.

Album image #5
The kit does not contain decals, so some caution marking is also represented as moulds for those who paint freehand.
I decided to import the decals from Mexico...

Album image #6
Cut out roughly as appropriate.

Album image #7
Is it something like this?
I have ordered wheel parts from Kiev, and I will work on them, hoping that they will make it safely through the war and reach Japan.

Album image #8
Reference materials were also obtained.

Album image #9
No motivation at all as neither parts nor decals have arrived.
However, if I leave it for a while and make another kit, my motivation should be restored.
... no proof.

Speaking of which, the decals arrived the other day, all the way across the Pacific!
The decals are printed with high precision and are very beautiful.
And they're superb, with the ability to reproduce almost every aircraft from every country that operated the Pucara!
What? Do I need to make 17 more of these vacuum-formed kits...?

Oh, lol, I think they made the landing gear with the vacuum shapes as well. 😄

Watching.
Never build a vacuumform kit, seems intimidating.

Lovely. To be fair, while all vacforms are a challenge, rareplanes are probably the Tamiya of vacform, or close enough. You'll enjoy it. Too late now but later issues of this came with some white metal parts for props and undercarriage. Usually made by aeroclub who also sold them on separate. I got some for my special hobby/airfix pucara. I think the rareplanes would have been a better buy....
