Prototype YF-16A | Academy
A rather brutal experience building, gluing, and puttying this thing. Primed with Tamiya Gray Primer.
Gray was a little too dark here. I later unified it with the blue, and tried lightening it a bit. In the final product, the two-tone pattern is far more subtle.
Eventually ended up painting the gear bays white.
Butchered the weathering but it is what it is. Not used to using Tamiya Panel Liner because it eats through my old varnish (Vallejo acrylic) like butter; X-22 Clear is far more durable.

Thank you Rui! I'd like to chalk up a lot of the issues to the fact that the kit is VERY old, but I didn't really do a great job either. Everything is a learning experience though 🙂
