P-40E Warhawk

This was a grand mistake by the original Squadron when they were producing the Encore series of kits. This is NOT a P-40E. It is a rebagged ERTL, LONG-TAIL, P-40F, kit #8795. When it was originally offered by Squadron I purchased one not knowing this. (Mine is #323 of 400.) Upon delivery I opened it and immediately noticed their mistake. I emailed Squadron, and the guy who was their Master Modeler (or whatever he called himself) admitted they knew it was NOT an E-model, and laughed it off saying it will be a great collector's edition. (What a maroon.) Anyway, it's a decent kit, but cannot be built as their included instructions explain. Mine is eventually going to be a P-40F from the Checkertail Clan. Probably a 318th Fighter Squadron aircraft.
