I need to drag myself away from using X-4 – even if I think it suits oldie-worldie vehicles. I don't want to be thought of as a one trick pony. I'm at least a two trick pony. 😄 😄

It happens sometimes! I've had this alot with brush painting, l think the brush would push paint under.
I use a masking fluid on top of any awkward masks now.
You will get it tidied ok.

I completed the build yesterday and other than the headlights being a bit too big I'm happy with how it turned out. I ended up really enjoying the build and thanks to every one for following. 👍

Beautiful model sir !!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 In the pictures the model doesn't look that small, certainly not 1/72 scale. Only in slide #34 where you can make the comparison with the match does it dawn on me that this really is a small model. Unless the matches in the Uk are a lot bigger than on the continent. 😉

Took them out of the shelf another time. Quite a bit of sanding had to be done. Particular the inner rear area of the wing where the box of the intakes tapers towards the trailing edge of the wing is much to thick in the kit. A bit of elbow grease was required there.
A fresh comparison with a machine in flight revealed some more issues I adressed. So, some more filling and sanding. Now I gotta wait till my trusted Mr. Hobby primer sets properly.

I use "Nail liner brushes" for cockpit n detail work... there used in beauty parlours for Painting pictures on nails.... There quite cheap and much more accurate than most fine paint brushes out there. 6 or 7mm best.

That's easy. Before I started building the Mikasa, I rotated it 180 degrees. If you look at the picture with the bow view, you will notice the paint and glue residue in the back corner. 😁

Slight off topic I'm interested in the storage you have behind it. Particularly the one between the brush storage and the three tall draws. My question is de you convert another storage to give the racks for your tray things and if so how/what did you convert? I have the same storage system but have not found anything like that rack and it's a great idea I'd like to use.

@Transall NG, my father just got caught up in a wave of "Messerization" in the 1990s. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, a flood of articles about the Luftwaffe flooded into Russia, which was like an ideological distraction. Many people dreamed of Messerschmitt and Focke-Wulf aircraft, considering them the best while simultaneously criticizing Soviet aircraft. Perhaps this was successful because in Soviet times, the qualities of German and Allied aircraft were underplayed, and there was little information about them available.
