Thank you for your interest. Vegetation? Two of my dioramas were located in the Tundra of Lappland (Aerosan) and in the Sahara (SAS, LRDG). Now, that should change. I think about scenes in Vietnam, the finnish Taiga: trees 🙁 ... I've much to learn 🙂
15 March, 07:52

I use floral wire (0,35 mm), bend it around the skewer and encase it with a drop of wood glue by my finger. Basic Colour is dark green
brightened with yellow.

Thanks for watching 🙂 - tomorrow there'll be new stuff, a little bit ...
21 March, 14:30

Thank you Daniele and all the others - next weekend I'll look to have some informations about camouflage with branches and so.
25 March, 17:10

@Villiers and Rui: Thank you! Very motivating. Also I like the likes. Thanks. 🙂
Next weekend a new theme is planned: weeds. My long term aim: to build a diorama of the training ground of Chiba Tank School (and the vegetation) to present Japanese tanks.

if you create a project, add the kits to the it, and link project and album, it will not appear as scratchbuilt anymore 😉 also by doing that, when somebody check the kit, they will see your album at the end of the product page.

This is really great work Mate 👏 all that beer consumption is definitely a good thing! 😜 Seriously, looks ace! 😍
28 March, 19:56

Beautiful Hurricane. Great work👍
I'm waiting for the Pilot and the German Shepherd 🤔 😉
28 March, 19:59

Neil, Rui S thank you for your comments, much appreciated. As you can tell this is an automated response, as I've been to the T'Club and imbibed a few Pints 'o' Bitter 😜🥴😜😅 No really (Cheez sounds like I'm three sheets to the Wind) if I can find a good figure and Dug' then that will be included. Und again thank you both. 👍🥸👍

Kinetic F/A-18A+/B / CF-188 - Build

Projekt: Kinetic F/A-18A+/B / CF-188

Nice subject! ?
Typical kinetic kit but its the best we've got for the legacy hornet?♂️. There are some workarounds to be found in forums, e.g. internal spacers/sidewalls for the rear part.
Watching!
8 May 2021, 17:32

Also taking a seat, looks quite good so far, like the detail paintwork in the landing gear area as well as in the cockpit. 👍
18 June 2021, 22:09

a bit of progress here, everything is now painted (even though i think i didn't hit the color tone very good, hopefully weathering improves that...) and there is one correction needed as the paint peeled in one spot.
18 August 2021, 10:11

Oh 410 Cougars training squadron. Same one I want to build. Looking great!
15 October 2021, 07:58

I like double-seaters, so that was the one to go with the kinetic kit 😉
15 October 2021, 09:56

Great work Schnemat, really like the outcome so far! 👍
As to your question about the pod, I think it goes on the left side fuselage anchoring normally reserved for the air-to-air missiles - at least this is the case for the Rhino Hornet.
23 October 2021, 01:10

Pic 32 shows you're already using the correct pod in the correct position 👍
(pic 31 shows the litening pods that preferably goes centerline position on most non-navy hornets - but also not used by RCAF)
a great looking hornet, I really like the typical streaks behind the slats, looking forward to the big rollout! 👍
23 October 2021, 13:00

Thank you for all your nice comments! I hope the canopy is not going to ruin the whole model...
23 October 2021, 14:55

Gorgeous - but makes me worry about that Kinetic F-18 waiting to be assembled!

Alaska Coastal Airlines Vega model 5 Floatplane
1:72
....all done .....full interior....open cockpit and all...a good ending to the Vega series......
79 20 November 2022, 07:24

Got an option to scan the decals, correct the color and print it out again?
28 December 2023, 09:27

Yes, scanning the decals was an option but looking closely at the kit decals shows they tried to make them fancier than the real aircraft and won't be of much use. It is a simple enough masking job and paint will be used and a few of the kit decals.
28 December 2023, 11:54

time to scratchbuild a float strut set.....and make a big white circle on the side as a decal background...and print a decal...and so on....its getting there.....
5 April 2024, 01:56

.....the Vega is a history challenge because the more u see the more the kits struts make some historical sense...the kit is an amalgam of various stage and varieties of Vegas...and there are many....actually found a place in Alaska that will sell you floats and a detailed description of how it attached to a Vega or Vegas....if it ever arrives, it will get a photo here for sure...thank you, as always...
20 April 2024, 00:43

Great work. The decals look fantastic. Nice to see interesting, obscure subjects being built.
9 May 2024, 00:59

You might want to give that a light sanding. There is a bit of orange pealing and the decals are pretty thick. Just test it before going crazy. It looks really good. This will be a great addition to your collection.
12 May 2024, 06:25

i'd be terrified to touch that finish...the decals are home printed...perhaps that means a thicker result?
this one will not be a complete success in any case because of the gold paint switch...that will be more obvious than any surface detail...it will still be fun to look at....
thanks again....
12 May 2024, 09:45

Yes, I wish they made printer decal paper that wasn't so damn thick. The last time I used some I had to layer a lot of clear lacquer on the model to get things even and do some light sanding. They are really tricky to get flat. Your model looks great as it is. If you're not comfortable with the extra work just leave it.
12 May 2024, 13:51

The difference in gold could be worked around if you printed the flag on white decal paper and the Alaska Coastal on clear decal paper. That way you could paint the gold circle and layer the decals. But the original plane looks like it matches your decal and the markings seem to be yellow rather than gold. However these are inconsequential details that rivet counters look at.
12 May 2024, 14:00

all done....photos to follow...a fun ending to the Vega series....
8 September 2024, 04:20

Amazing result with this kit. I was like "I recognize that water base" … that mystery was solved when I read the captions, I did recognize it 🤣
22 March, 21:35

At first I thought it's a spinnaker, but then I came across this pic:
th.bing.com/th/id/OI..1&pid=ImgDetMain
25 March, 10:42

Looks great and nice photos too! In the last photo, yes it's a retractable water rudder needed to taxi on the water, but I guess you already know that.
25 March, 11:05

...yes....Lukasz....that shows the rudders clearly...other photos do not but its easy to add them.....BTW...that photograph seems to be the exact aircraft MPM had in mind when they made this kit....there are so many variations in Vegas that become apparent with some web searching....
1 25 March, 18:11

....in fact, Lukasz...it is the same aircraft....just with different livery...check the numbers.....just noticed that....the kit version must have come first because this version had a major crash when the pilot ran out of fuel...

Matteo its not that clean, i see a lot of little mistake, but in a display and in pjoto the model look great.Revell put a lot of details on the body and you need to masked and be careful. The hood also dont fit perfectly, but its a good kit in general.

I might be trying to enter the details wrong but, Is there a Nitto Kagaku 150mm rocket gun somewhere in the data base? It includes 5 different finished parts in 1/76 scale. Cheers.

have fun with that... I black based it first, then white marbling. I used a light grey for the main colour, dry brushed white to pick out details and used Tamiya Black Panel Liner. Engines were painted with a metallic grey/black
3 December 2020, 02:59

Hey Mark/Cobra, nicely done! I love these little Bandai kits as side-quest to side-quests of my main projects... Unfortunately the speed of Australia Post and stock levels of Brisbane hobby stores make it necessary.... So this Star Destroyer kit is my distraction this weekend! I've gone for a lighter undercoat as I don't want it to end up looking too dark, with plans to pinwash into the crevices. Unfortunately I've found the deep details of these kits just absorb washes like crazy and make the tone very dark... Did your Tamiya panel-liner behave straight out of the bottle, or was there a bit of cleanup afterwards? Wondering if I should adopt a more dilute wash based on past experience with these kits
28 March, 10:26

a bit of clean up afterwards... do some dry brushing as well, to pick up the smaller detail.
