Sepecat Jaguar Gr1

The kit shows its age, but it should be possible to get something half decent out of it.

An old Italeri kit in a new box.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/8/0/1/1507801-31078-84-720.jpg)
Some modifications done to the cockpit. Mainly bits and pieces of wire and styrene to make it a bit more interesting. The cockpit it self looks like pure fantasy from Italeri. It does not match reference pictures very well, but in this scale it really does not matter a lot.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/8/0/2/1507802-31078-90-720.jpg)
Painted and with a grey wash.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/8/0/3/1507803-31078-32-720.jpg)
All glued together. Some putty was necessary. I made new seat belte from Tamiya tape.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/2/0/4/1508204-31078-61-720.jpg)
It starts to look like a jet fighter.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/7/7/4/1508774-31078-48-720.jpg)
First layers of paint. As a base coat I used a 30 year old tin of Humbrol 250. It went on very smooth but also revealed some areas which needs more putty.

Starting with a base color on the loadout. It will be Sidewinders on the overwing pylons, drop tank on the center line pylon, CBU-87s on left/tight inboard pylons, a AN/ALQ-119 on the outboard left pylon and a Phimat pod on the right.

Soon the Jaguar will be ready for a clear coat, decals and weathering. The landing gear in this kit is terrible, but I decided it was too much work correcting it since this is only a side project.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/1/6/9/1512169-31078-89-720.jpg)
Decals are on, they are very good, and I have started some weathering.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/8/9/4/1512894-31078-47-720.jpg)
Slowly getting there…
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/3/9/2/1513392-31078-78-720.jpg)
I used some US crew figures… Hard to see in this scale anyway.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/3/9/3/1513393-31078-49-720.jpg)
Finished.

Not the best kit I have built, but it turned out half decent.

This will be a «summer project». No AM stash will be used, only some styrene and wire for some light detailing.

Painting looking good. Those enamel seem to work fine after 3 decades. I have some Humbrol cans from about 30 years ago. Some dried up but others are still preserved.

Thank you for all the nice comments. The kit is an old dog, but has a possibility to be nice with some more scratchbuilding. However, if I should build another one I think I will go for Hasegawa.
