David Orr Thanks Dietmar. I was thinking it might have been easier to do the sand brown first, then use masking fluid to do the green and brown, but it's hard to say whether that would have been easier. I could probably do the sand brown freehand with my airbrush now that I have figured out how to do it a bit better. The paint needed a bit more thinners and some retarder as well, but I still struggle to get a thin enough line. It's a hard pattern to do, especially with it going around corners. I like how it came out in the end, but it was an ordeal.

gorby The camo on the vehicle and the figure are excellent!
David Orr Thanks Gorby. I'm amazed that it came out so nice myself. I almost threw it in the bin when I saw how much of it was melted, but then I thought I might as well try and rescue it. It's very weird how the styrene goes when the tyres melt it. You can cut the melted bits off but it is soft on the inside and it will melt again. Thank goodness for Evergreen Styrene, Tamiya putty and Milliputt.

Neuling A very nice result. I like it very much. Mission accomplished!
George Williams Whoops! What a lovely model of a very under-rated car.

David Orr Thanks George. It's a nice kit, but the plastic is a bit reactive with the SMS paints that I use. I've had to use Tamiya primer on the body and that seems to be working fine. Shame I nearly ruined it when it blew off my painting stand. I've upgraded to the Tamiya paint stand now. I've also got the cabriolet and the TWR European Touring Car Champs 1984 winner in the stash. The latter is my all-time favourite race car.
John E Sounds like a nightmare from start to finish. I'll bet you're glad it's done. Congrats!

David Orr Yes indeed, it was a nightmare. I'm quite happy with how it came out, despite all the dramas. It almost ended up in the trash a few times, especially when the weathering wash wouldn't come off. I had to use isopropyl to remove what I could, and that made the clear coat go hazy, but that came right with a light rub with Tamiya lacquer thinner.
David Orr Thanks guys. This was quite a fun build and for such an old kit it fitted together nicely. Minor issues, but overall very good. The SMS paints were also excellent to work with.

David Orr Ich danke Ihnen vielmals. Ich glaube nicht, dass ich jemals wieder einen dieser alten Pocher-Bausätze bauen werde. Es hat Spaß gemacht und ich liebe das Endergebnis, aber es war sehr zeitaufwendig und manchmal frustrierend.
Thank you very much. I don't think I'll ever build another one of these old Pocher kits. It was fun and I love the end result, but it was very time-consuming and frustrating at times.
