Album info

Lim-2 (Polish-built MiG-15 bis) 1:48 Hobby 2000 + Eduard and Aber accessories + engine from Tamiya kit. Mr. Hobby acrylic paints, Tamiya gloss, Abteilung oil wash.
In researching and building I experienced a lot of selfless help. I got the engine for free, as well as lots of photos and drawings from experts on the subject. Finally, a glaring error was brought to my attention by one of fellow modellers, which I fortunately fixed.
My first "bare metal" and lots of mistakes, not only in painting. I'm definitely a mediocre modeller.
I'm satisfied with my own, albeit subtle valorization: the enriched engine can be seen through the hatch, and if you look closely, also the frame, I also added something at the landing gear.
The painting depicts the aircraft used by Polish pilot Franciszek Jarecki to escape to Bornholm in 1953. They say of Jarecki that he was a hero, or that he was a traitor. For me - neither one nor the other. A boy who took a deadly risk to escape from a suffocating environment where it was impossible to live. I dedicate the work to all those who also suffocate in their environments - work, family, whatever.
I'm still not sure whether Jarecki's plane was a Lim or a Mig. ?
