For me one of the most beautiful planes ever! You did a really great job, excellent painting!
Thanks everyone, this is really one striking aircraft, somebody dubbed it "the Ferrari of the skies".

My Macchi Castoldi MC 72 from AMP in 1/48. It is a good kit with nice cockpit details, fine surface detail, and great fit. However, there are some challenges.
.
The geometry of the floats can be tricky to get right. Next, the rigging is included as flat PE strips, but they are too thin, prone to sagging, hard to cleanup, and generally not easy to work with and not very realistic. I used 0.3 mm steel wire instead, painted it, and made locator holes to improve the resiliance of the attachments point. Lastly, the finish of the glossy Ferrari red is an important feature of the aircraft.
.
I used Tamiya laquer paints, Aquagloss gloss varnish, 1000 - 3000 grit sandpaper, Tamiya polishing paste, and lots of elbow grease to obtain a deep lustre. For the metallics, I used AK Extreme Metal Aluminum and Brass.
.
I'm quite happy with the results, I think this is an incredibly elegant machine which, despite its vintage, still holds the speed record (709 Km/h) for a seaplane, set in 1931.
