Looking good Augie. I thought that kit was no longer aviable.
20 January 2014, 23:02

Thanks clifford, Its one I've had in the stash a while.. sourced from a mate on here
20 January 2014, 23:03

The "purple penetrator" nudge nudge wink wink say no more....
21 January 2014, 14:39

hehe thanks gents 🙂
and yes wim, its difficult not to giggle at the name....very difficult
21 January 2014, 18:48

One of my favorite jets, because it's ugly like an A-10....please keep us informed of how this one fits, I might just get one myself
21 January 2014, 21:02

Oh this will be updated as I go.. not one of my stealth builds
21 January 2014, 21:08

Nice! I like the instrument panel. Was it dry brushed? btw will you be joining the GB?
22 January 2014, 23:16

Hey Brandon, thanks It was not dry brush used small brush to pick out instruments.
And yes.. I'll be in the group build.. need to finish the matchbox one too
22 January 2014, 23:20

Cool! What size brush? An 000? The naval aviation GB is until April so I think you'll have time,do you have any idea of what you'll be building?
22 January 2014, 23:25

was done with a 10/0 brush and a magnifying glass
for the group build... I have no idea yet lol
22 January 2014, 23:28

They do.. tho with my eyes these days might be too small for me lol
22 January 2014, 23:31

The dashboard/Instrument panel looks quite amazing!
Did ya work with decals?
26 January 2014, 08:23

I think Augie used Humbrol Frogfoot-Green for this....😉
Love your paint jobs, Augie!
26 January 2014, 13:18

thanks Matthias 🙂
Urban, I'm using the Model Master 2135 for the cockpit colour
26 January 2014, 14:19

5X0 is the smallest I have...If I go easy on the caffeine it usually works...
26 January 2014, 20:11

Nice job Augie, Looks very realisitic. I am kind of a cockpit freak I think I spend more time on the cockpit than any other part of the model. I use a 0/0 brush and toothpicks. they work very nice.
26 January 2014, 21:44

Thanks Clifford,
10/0 for me and backside of a scalpel 🙂 works wonders
26 January 2014, 21:45

Whatever works is the way to go. I have been working on my seasprite, I had to quit for the day before it becomes a supersonic missle!!!!!
26 January 2014, 21:48

🙂 Defo allways best before you make it the fastest seasprite ever
26 January 2014, 21:57

Awesome! Are the real ones that same color in the cockpit? It's such a weird color for a cockpit
26 January 2014, 23:12

Hehe you mean the wonderful Russian cockpit green?
Its real..
26 January 2014, 23:17

I don't usually build Russian aircraft so I'm used to the greens and greys of pretty much everything else. But It is cool 🙂
26 January 2014, 23:23

"Calming" I don't think a color will do much when you're engaged in a dogfight or a missile is locked on you
26 January 2014, 23:26

The Montana Air National Guard painted the cockpits and seats of their F-106s the same color, They looked neat.
27 January 2014, 23:31

Augie, How did you get the interior color? Did you mix it or can you get it pre-mixed. I have a lot of Migs to build.
29 January 2014, 19:05

Hi Clifford, Its a pre-mix.
Model master 2135 Russian Interior Blue/Green
29 January 2014, 19:12

Progress pic.. paint as its up to.. not overly happy with it as it sits.. the light green is wrong
1 February 2014, 21:00

Daily update, she sits on wheels now.. nearly ready for the gloss coat pre-decals
2 February 2014, 21:42

Looking good Augie. The SeaSprite got the rest of her decals today and has wheels.
5 February 2014, 00:13

What size brush do you use for the base coat? I use a 1/2 inch brush and it sometimes leaves lines in the paint. I'm going to my Lhs later and I'll get some more brushes
17 February 2014, 23:57

I dont base coat, I paint the cammo pattern color at a time.
That one was done with a Tamiya No.0 (87015) Item brush
18 February 2014, 00:02

I am a fan of brush paint, well done! How was the building, is the Revell kit nice? I am looking fo an 1:48 version, Revell does not have the Russian Decals, but that is a minor problem, is it recommendable kit?
16 May 2015, 20:24

Hi Melf,
thanks very much 🙂 It is the revel kit, with decals from the spares box.
It builds ok, but there are some gotcha's in the build.
16 May 2015, 20:26

You mean some fitting adjustment with putty- as nasty as in cricket the so called "inswinging yorker"? Tell me about it
16 May 2015, 20:31

the fit is ok, long as your careful. the only real downside is the intakes are a little sparse so you might want to putty it and smooth it out that way.
