Just for comparison Tamiya F4U-1D & Hasegawa F4U-4 One just finished, one made in the beginning of the year One with recessed panel lines (1998 tooling) and one with raised (1980 tooling). Newer is better I think... facebook.com/groups/50109

Thanks! It's a bit of a disaster area though... it looked really nice, then I masked to paint the light blue areas. The tape lifted of the paint in big patches. I was not up to strip the whole model again, so I have just filled in the missing paint in many places.
In other news it's the first 60s/70s model with raised panel lines that I have finished in many a moon...
