Yes bit of a a hassle. The side Martini one is still off as engine cover and front cover don't mate up perfectly

To get a break from building aircraft, I tried to build something that I never build before, an F1 race car.
This build was full of surprises and unanticipated adventures. The biggest one was when the decals shattered after using decal solution. You cannot really see it on the pictures, but it is quite visible in real life. Another interesting thing was that the decal solution had a reaction with the base coat of paint. Even though I let it dry for 24 hours. I used Tamiya gloss paint. Interestingly enough this reaction never occurred when I used the mate paint. I wonder if the chemistry is different.
I do not know if the green is close to the original color, I tried to match it to a picture I found on google. The colors on the pictures are a bit warmer than in real life. I really did not go for exact precision. As I said this was just to get distracted from other things.
And yes, I like there was no weathering necessary 🙂
