I must have missed this Andy, what a beautiful aircraft, we (UK) really mucked up cancelling this project. Great model btw! 🙂

@Guy: thanks for looking- this one was built a few years back, rebuilt as slightly damaged and rescued from a previous life I had....I remember it to be a real challenge (fit issues), but ultimately commands a presence on any modeller's shelf!, (plus it's good to see the one at Cosford too).

Hello berni…thanks for taking a look:
it's a few years ago since I painted it…I'm thinking it would have been Tamiya's gloss white, thinned - to avoid the need to clear varnish it before decals. I think that went over some grey primer. A bit of weathering and that's all. The actual resides at RAF Cosford and I'm sure there are many other reference photos around. It's surprisingly large!

Impressive aircraft! 👍 I'm sad that I've got no kit, when it was released.

Knowing Airfix Bernd they will re-release….it's a staple kit in any British modeller's psyche!
It was available in 48th too- behemoth!

One or two what ifs kicking about withe tonka tanks etc.If the Eagle had gone into production it would have had it's own set of add ons.

They say that Mountbatten's influence killed the project. I've never understood British politics.

That maybe true Skywalker-but I also believe the technology ran away from our ability to write the cheques for it. Then UK switched to F-111, which was a money pit too, and we couldn't afford that either! Britain was broke essentially in 1964. But we had The Beatles!

Such a beautiful airplane, hopefully the availability of TSR.2 kits will improve in the future.

@DerMattes: if you could sketch out a cool, fast military jet, you'd draw the TSR-2. I'm sure Airfix will re-release this one. It's a perennial favourite.

We got the Buccaneer, fantastic craft.Apparantly they put all the avionics etc into an Buccaneer as a testbed for the Tornado and the test pilots said that they needed to go no further.

Andy Ball
The Bucc deservedly stayed in service for years due to its rugged design, as I seem to recall?

Appreciate the additional likes, and thank-you for your understanding that I can't reply or see exactly who's had a look!
I am very grateful!
