Thanks guys, your kind words are really appreciated. Got the idea for the base when I was looking on some inflight shots of the Viggen above Swedish forests.

Great model and photos Daniel. Did you use the paint recommendations (mr hobby) from the instructions or create your own?

This is the second Viggen I've seen tonight and a second gem - well done indeed! The presentation really brings back memories of working with these beasts at air bases in woodland nothen part of Sweden. Thanks.

Y'know Daniel, this is what makes the hobby great....the illusion of a fast plane skimming over the Swedish forests....looks so real...
Tell me: is the white number meant to be semi-permanent, or is it weathered/applied with brush in reality?

I am anxious to start this one - and in the same livery. Your build looks great and I really like your presentation. Is it a ready made backdrop or you created it yourself?

@Andy
the white numbers were special markings during air combat exercises, to enhance the visibility of the jets.

@Michael the base was made using a free stock photo from the net, edited by myself and printed by an online service. The splinter camo was not that hard to do, if you can get some masks for it just grab it, it makes your life a bit easier. 😉

The model alone is already awesome, but with the background it really comes alive🔥 super cool photos, love the aileron roll in 200 ft😎

How did you like the DN masks? I didn't like mine for the Kfir. Ok on flat areas, a pain on curved ones, no cut outs for protusions which leads to wrinkled/distorted masks and thus edges.

I'm with you, the masks work good on even surfaces but are really hard to handle on all the other spots. I'm curious to see how they can be processed a second time, I would like to use the same set of masks again on a second model.

Hi Daniel. One of the upsides of this material is that it can be used a couple of times without significant loss of performance. You shouldn't face any (additional that is) problems.
What I finally did was using the masks as templates for Kabuki ones.
