Since I really wanted to build two Fw 56s, I had to dare to use this kit. Indeed, some " primal " model building! Only a few things can be taken for granted here. I will simply do my best with commitment. The cockpits of both aircraft were greased up with some scratched parts from the spare parts box. On the one hand, I would like to create a "Stösser" of the German Luftwaffe, on the other hand an export aircraft that was flown in Austria in the 1930s.

The "Stösser" is trying to clear one hurdle after the other. Currently: sanding and shaping a fuselage in need of filler and drilling out the exhaust openings and the channels for the barrels of the two MGs. Especially the second part was a bit challenging, so it was nice to get some results.
By the way, it has now been decided that an Austrian export aircraft and an Fw 56 flown in the Spanish Civil War will be realised.

Very nice Roland! Purchased this kit too recently so following yours with interest! Mine will be a Dutch machine, left behind by Ze Germans after WW2.

I think I know the Dutch machine - a very attractive livery. I'm glad to hear that!

The double building is now differentiated into the Austrian machine and the Spanish/Republican Fw 56, which has already been painted in the red areas of the Republicans. Next, Alclad "White Alu" is applied.

Thank you mates, indeed, one of the few aircraft with a shade of violet 🙂

A small update: the colourful Republican/Spanish markings are on the tail of one aircraft, the "Austrian" Fw-56 shows the first gear of work with Alclad metallic tones.
To be honest, the two pictures do not quite correspond to the current state: on both, all surface colours have now been finally applied; the next step will be the application of the (few) decals.

The decals are up, now they need to be sealed before a little weathering will bring life to the display.

Fantastic work Roland, despite the kit's quality you make it looks top notch

Similar pictures - but with one difference: the struts of the "canopy" are made of hollow brass rods. It seems to work....

Thank you for the positive and very welcome comments!
But unfortunately I can't upload the promised pictures at the moment, something doesn't seem to work. I will try again later.

So, I finished the first "Stösser", the one in Spanish/Republican service. That was a really wild modelling experience with just about all the parts that needed to be improved or even rebuilt. This build is closely followed by the Austrian Fw-56, a few findings flow into this one. I will no longer use any of the kit struts but replace them with homemade brass tubes.
I hope you like the Fw-56 in spite of everything. Considering the conditions, I am satisfied with the result.

Amazing result Roland! Will start mine soon I think! Thanks for pointing out the struts problem. Yours will be the benchmark for my build

Thank you very much for your positive and motivating feedback! The Austrian Fw-56 is approaching, I am already curious how it will look in its silver dress next to its more "earthy" sister!
