Based on the Mirage III kit from Kinetic I have started to build an Argentine IAI Dagger from the time of the Falklands War. The model is based on the C-420, a Dagger of the fighter group 6 - airmobile squadron (the Marinete Squadron) stationed at San Julian airbase. The Daggers of this unit often flew missions in the so-called India configuration, consisting of three 1300l drop tanks and two EXPAL 250 kg bombs. This is how my model will be built.

In the meantime, the painting is well on its way. I used colours from Hataka's Orange Line for the first time. They work really well and I will use them more often in the future.

After a break due to holidays, the painting of the Dagger has continued. The striking turquoise-blue identification stripes of the Argentinian aircraft from the second phase of the Malvinas War were added and the weathering completed.

Great Mirage Christoph! Nice paint job. How do you judge the fit? I see you mastered the front screen fit very well. I had a lot of problems with mine (i built the Wingman Models Mirage 5 edition in BAF markings).

Thank you very much mate!
The overall fit of the model was modest. I had to use some tricks and bring many subassemblies into shape with some pressure. This affected the wing-fuselage connection, the air intakes and the fit of the many fuselage inserts. The windscreen, on the other hand, fit reasonably well.

The model of the Dagger was finished at the weekend. Its construction was surprisingly complex, which was mainly due to the modest fit of the Kinetic kit and probably also the quite extensive paint jobs of the C-420.

Very nice! I like the weathering of the lower sides of the drop tanks.
