Thank you very much John. This is my second build of this kit, and it has gone well so far. I am glad you like the pit. I actually found the Academy F-14 more of a challange than this one.

Major set back on this one. I got it all painted and let the paint cure for 3 days. I went to put the clear coat on it, so I hopefully could start decals this week. I had a new bottle of Testor's gloss coat, that I had never used. I use their flat coat all the time. They are both acrylic. I put the first light coat on the belly, missiles, bottom of the wings and landing gear. It took my Tamiya gloss paint off in patches, like I sprayed paint remover on the darn thing. I have to repaint parts of the belly, all the missiles, the bottom of both wings and the gear. I'm madder than a wet hen. I promptly threw that crap in the bin. It will get repaired and re-painted.

All is repaired and re-painted now. For gloss coats, from now on I think I will stick to future.

Thank you very much Daniel, and welcome Robin. All of the decals, except for the missiles are done. I got the new decal sheet and the left vertical fin is fixed. So hopefully will finish this one soon. Weathering will be minimal, as all the reference photo's I have found of this aircraft show it being pretty clean.

Thank you Robin, I had hoped to get pictures up today, but mother nature had other plans. Spent the day cleaning up downed trees.

Clifford:
Was anyone able to say what happened with the Testors clear coat? Was that a no-no to put that on? I wouldn't have thought that. …..?

Thank you very much Roland, Maciej, Guy, Murad, Robin and Nathan. Your kind words are most appericated. @ Paul, no none has come up with any reason. I used Testor's flat coat on it and as you can see it came out fine. So I am wondering if maybe it was something I did.

Lovely job there Clifford! That is a very attractive scheme. I bought the new Tamiya F-14D in 1:48 yesterday and am looking forward to starting that one day soon 🙂

Thank you very much Tom and Gareth for your kind words, they are much appericated . @ Tom, I would love to build one of the Tamiya F-14's or F-4 for that matter, but they are a bit out of my price range. I was able to find the Hobby Boss F-14's on sale, so I bought an A and B model.
