Great project. I like to see old models restored - especially nice ones like this.

(Monogram F-4C in 1:.48 scale, kit #5800, c.1979)
Repair/refurb of 40-year-old build of the original Monogram F-4C (c. 1979). Kit was built in high school with a fairly satisfactory airbrushed paint job using Humbrol enamels (I think), but had suffered from being stuffed in a box full of foam peanuts for most of that time. Gear, stabs, canopies were all broken or lost; Decals were yellowed and gloss coat (Future floor wax) had bubbled and silvered.
Wax was removed with Isopropanol. Kit was repaired with spares and some creative solutions, and re-glossed. Markings will be "New-original" decals from a second original sheet that I found in my spares (with no idea of their source) and aircraft will be properly finished in satin polyurethane varnish.
