Mirage III CJ
I did scratch build seat belts. Nothing special but it atleast makes cockpit a bit more busy. Canopy is gonna be closed anyway.
If you dont glue closing panel like me. U can add weight later. You doesnt have to put it in nose BTW. She sits allright like this.
Unpolished
Polished
Alclad Chrome
I will continue with more shades of alluminium and other details.
Masking. Unfortunately after removal of mask a bit of chrome pigment peeled off. So i had to add few layers of chrome again. At that moment i got a bit worried so i didnt add more aluminium shades to different panels. I will try that in next projects in bigger scale since its going to be a bit easier to mask.
Masks down.
Didnt have exact colour from instructions so tried a custom mix. Kinda happy with it in the end but i think it should have more yellow shade.

Finished. Many mistakes on my side, mainly in the building section (joints, polishing of gaps etc.) Unfortunately everything is visible on the metalic surface. Aqua gloss clear from Alclad took a lot of shine away from the final finish. Maybe it is more realistic RN.
Final conclusion of kit: I was expecting a bit more user-friendly building. I did struggle a lot with some joints-if you try to repair them you destroy all nice detail around... Wasnt happy with the fit of the canopy since i wanted it in closed position. I did a lot of test fitting during the build but ended up with many problems. But cant tell if the problem was on my side or on side of the kit. Since i am unexperienced modeler problems are most likely caused by me. Looking forward to building Modelsvits Mirage III which is in my stash for comparison+waiting for IIIE or Mirage 5 by Special Hobby, it will be maybe easier build for the second time.

From what I see at the pics I think this turned out very nice. Quite a decent shine and no flaws in the paint job that are obvious. I like it.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. They are very valuable for me.
