Tamiya's old Raiden

Old, but still decent Tamiya kit.

Built a while ago, so there's not much tonal variation in it as I was still learning the subtleties of an airbrush and was using it as a spray gun, ha.

No issues, built OOB with some minor details like the rear tail light made from carved clear sprue, hypodermic needles for cannon and an added landing gear down indicator on the port wing.

First experiment with chipping paint and it went OK. Masking the canopy was probably most tedious part. Made the mistake of using 1. Old and 2. Tamiya decals, with all that implies. They broke, but fortunately hinomarus are fairly easy to repair. The unit is a mash of the kit decals and therefore fictitious, but had to work with the ones that didn't [expletive deleted] the bed.

Revisiting it for experimentation with oil weathering. Will update if not total disaster.
