As a kid I made the Airfix Scout and loved the design. The BBC series 'Warship', that I watched as a teen, often featured the Scout's cooler sister the Wasp. I recently found this series on YouTube and looked around for a kit, but could only find conversion sets. When LF models launched a complete kit I placed an order and turned to YouTube again for a bit of history. I found some I wasn't expecting - a Wasp from HMS Endurance fired the first ever missile launched in anger by the Royal Navy, hitting the Argentine submarine Santa Fe during the Falklands conflict! My Wasp will commemorate this attack, which helped drive the submarine back to South Georgia, where the crew and the Argentine Marines it had just delivered surrendered.
