Sud Aviation Alouette III Z929 of the Indian Air Force, intended to look as she looked in the early 2010s. Entering service during the sixties, she was one of the few French-manufactured examples of the type delivered to India.
India received three Alouette III helicopters from France in 1962, followed by some 35 delivered in kits, assembled in India. These were followed by more than 300 locally built examples (designated Chetak, named after the horse of king Pratap Singh I) for the Indian Armed Forces, including the Air Force, the Army, the Navy and the Coast Guard. The type was used in several conflicts, including the 1971 war against Pakistan.
