Ste.-Marie-sur-Mer - INVITATION
An international modelling project

A little town in France – a project too big for one modeller? Yes, indead. But i will show you only some selected dioramas – a few individual impressions of the time 1938ff. In my opinion these scenes should be like historic novels: an historic frame and individual stories, which should be authentic.
So if you are interested, feel free to build your own scene/s of Ste.-Marie-sur-Mer. Maybe it will become an international project: all scales are possible, not only 1:35 (only my choice). There is only one condition: no fights. There were none in this town! My invention.
There might be an (fictive) french airfield in the near of the town, occupied by the Germans. Me 109 instead of MS 406. There are a lot of possible aircraft-models. Even early jet fighters of the Armée de l’Air or Aéronavale may be possible in postwar France. 1:72, 1:48 or 1:32 – your choice. If you like a civil topic: sea rescue for example.
Or think of the lovely French cars and camions de livraison in 1:24 (Heller). Vachement bien.
Ste.-Marie is also a harbour town. Think about fishing boats or a KFK. There are different scales. The KFK in 1:350 … too small for my fingers. The next Channel Island is about 20 nautical miles away. I think your immagination will find the appropriate subject. But think of the tide.
So if the mood strikes … you are invited to build your part of Ste.-Marie-sur-Mer.
Cordial invitation!
