David, I'll be watching this one with interest. As I said I've had this kit for some time. I did save a bunch of nice veneer sheets, figured I could make the deck planking!?? Also saved a few rolls of thin copper sheeting. Even just to build her OOB is a sizeable job. I built it also when I was a kid, but didn't put much effort into it. Looking forward to doing her again.

I also build this one when i was younger. I guess it was the late 80's. Do try for a different rigging than the oob one. That one is way too thick.

I plan to do my best with copper paint for the lower hull, but if it doesn't turn out how I want then I am going to buy the pre punched copper sheeting from Model Shipways. It shouldn't be hard to attach but will be very tedious to attach each individual sheet which will number over 100.
As for the rigging I am still doing some research to find the appropriate scale diameter.
I do plan to replace all of the cannons with turned brass as the originals are atrocious by today's standards.
