Good luck! Looking forward to seeing your progress. I think this will be a nice opportunity to try out rigging with wire, if you haven't tried this yet (I haven't but will). 🙂

Thanks I'll need all the luck I can get. This my first ship build. My great grandfather died in WWII on a liberty ship so building this for my grandpa. I haven't done any rigging yet so it will be interesting lol. I'm also completely hand painting this so the tiny parts will be interesting as well!

The bottom hull and water line plate left huge gaps had to use a lot of putty and a lot of sanding to remove the gaps. Currently I am applying primer over the putty to ensure there are no more gaps that need fixed.

There is a lip on the bottom hull that shouldn't be there. I sanded the lip off but still left big gaps. After I get everything flush then it's time for the rigging 🙂

Update: after 3 coats of putty 9 coats of primer and about 3 hours of sanding, I finally got the hull gaps filled in. Now time for painting and then the rigging.

Calling this one done for now. Rigging still needs to be done but I ran out of patience with this model. A lot of gap filling, a lot of sanding.

There is imo two big challenges, the hull parts in particular, and then everything else that has to be sanded flat, all the stuff above deck.
