Personal interest:
This model represents a MiG-25PDS interceptor with the mission of defending Russian airspace near Vladivostok. During the 1990s, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Russia began phasing out the MiG-25PDS and replacing them with the more modern MiG-31. Some MiG-25PDS aircraft were still operating during my US Air Force service in Alaska. It remained a formidable interceptor for high value assets operating out of Alaska like the E-3 and RC-135, and other US aircraft often operating at medium to high altitude in the theater like the U-2 and B-52.
