James DavidsonI have the original release of this kit, and built it between 1979 to 81. Over all, a decent kit! Some glaring errors thought- the scale is [probably] 1/64 to 1/68, not 1/96 and the figures look ridiculous on deck!
The guns are close to correct , for the era depicted, but too small. There Are some depictions [paintings etc] of ships with the foremast leaning forward-[as per the kit] this was never done to my knowledge, for very basic engineering reasons. If you correct the foremast and use larger scale figures, this becomes a good model of 16th century ships.
