7PT
A small box of an interesting subject, not covered in 1/48th scale before
The number of parts is not impressive, so not much of a build, but the challenge is of a different kind
The supports are like a mesh - and very brittle
This is the main work when preparing a 3D printed model - removing the supports. While it.s possible to happily chop away at the beginning, the fine cleaning needs to be done with a blade saw and sand paper, otherwise model details fracture and go along with the support.
The came is standard, but the masking strategy is different. Due to the fact that a lot of the elements are integrated, they can’t be painted separately, which is especially a challenge for the tracks and the suspension.
On th other hand - the sag of the tracks is perfect 🙂
Adding a light chipping
A flat coat…
And some pigments - et voila - a handsome participant of the ‘39 campaign.
