The fitment of the figure is pretty bad for a modern kit, I got instant flashbacks to the MPC Speeder Bike pilot.

Just laying down some initial colors, probably going to change them later

Cut and cast the panels in clear resin for easier lighting
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/9/0/0/1699900-129767-94-720.jpg)
Cut the door and added some styrene to give it more depth
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/5/5/2/1709552-129767-22-720.jpg)
added some details to the doorframe. Also, since I dislike the uniform composition of this kit, I decided to turn one of those tube thingies into a water evaporator using some trash an sprue trees.

threw on some colors and did a testfit. The current paintjob is just a rough idea of how it could look like and likely to change completely. I'm currently experimenting with how to get the beskar looking more like the boxart instead of aluminium. I also noticed I have very few brown colors. xD

A new pose it is, I guess...
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/6/5/5/1710655-129767-98-720.jpg)
Giving him a new pose proves to be challenging, but what did I expect, it's a statue not an action figure. I'll have to think about either doing the drawing pose, which would still fit his overall posture, or chopping him up even more to make more dramatic changes.

I keep comming back to catnip pillows for all things fabric 😛
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/4/7/4/1712474-129767-84-720.jpg)
did some damage to the helmets and cut out the first wall light so it's actually working
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/8/3/0/1713830-129767-68-720.jpg)
more lights and a new cape. Needs work but it's surely better than the plastic one.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/2/9/8/1715298-129767-32-720.jpg)
Did some sewing on the cape. The arm is back on, too. Probably going to cut off the other now xD

This is getting out of hand...
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/0/9/1/1716091-129767-82-720.jpg)
Checking the pose again. Not sure if I go the concussion grenade or flamethrower route...

Although I was basically nearing completion, I decided that the whole base felt very crowded, so I decided to expand it a bit. I would prefer it even bigger but it has to go in a 33x33cm shelf space.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/1/2/7/1744127-129767-24-720.jpg)
Lost interest for a while. The styrofoam expansion on the floor curled up a bit, used a new glue and apparently it's shrinking quite a bit. Also put filler over the entire back wall to smooth it out a bit, as the coarse sand I initially used to texture the styrofoam was too rough for my liking. While it looks more authentic now, the spongy properties of the filler make it harder to weather.

lights on

tried some sparks with fiber wire, turned out so so... Same goes for the whistling birds, which I'll probably redo at some point.

But for now... I'm calling this done.

Wow! You have some really nasty gaps on the figure. I've made this kit and mine were noticable but were easily cleaned up with a bit of sanding and a small bit of filler. I didn't get the same gaps that you have on the legs. Nice work on the 'diorama' part, I used basing sand on the base of it to give a bit of 'realism' it does look better for it.

Oh, I almost forgot that I started this album here xD Yeah the gaps were pretty bad, luckily most of it was on the less visible leg. I kinda plan on changing the whole pose so it doesn't really matter as much. The Grogu kit was similar btw, needed lots of putty and sanding, too.

I can see how "Handy" you are on your mods! If you opt for the grenades, Mando generally has a lot of them flying out - but I can see you doing something awe inspiring like dotting the them with LEDs! On the other hand, a flamethrower will also look bad ass! Either way you go, we win!

I agree with the Capt, as it is now it looks like one Whistling Bird coming out and they normally come in a flock. If the existing cotton wool is 'converted' into a flame with paint/lighting then it'll be just as amazing - either way 👍

For now it's just a placeholder. The whole thing is already getting a bit crowded so not sure how well multiple birds would fit, hence the flamethrower idea. But that would be more difficult to light I guess. Will need to experiment a bit.

So, as of now I'm leaning more towards the flamethrower solution. The whistling birds only leave a very thin smoke trail with glowing tips. However the wires holding this would also have to be very thin yet be able to hold the fiber optics in place. Thin fibers don't carry a lot of light. This is especially true if you have to roughen the ends to allow for a bit of side glow while being wrapped in cotton. There's practically no light left unless the room is completely dark. Not exactly what I had in mind. Will have to study some YT vids of some of the modeling wizards that do explosions. Any recommendations welcome!
