After opening the box you can see the usual short run quality - lots of molding burrs...
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/7/2/4/1709724-14709-61-720.jpg)
... unclean engravings...
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/7/2/5/1709725-14709-20-720.jpg)
... and many casting errors.
To start construction there is a lot of grinding, carving and engraving.

After a few dusty hours, the first parts were removed from the frames and roughly cleaned.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/2/7/4/1711274-14709-88-720.jpg)

The interior work could now begin.
The cargo hold remains closed, so there is no need to go into every last detail - the whole thing serves more to stabilize the fuselage halves.

Glued on a few pieces of plastic sheet to achieve a better fit between the front and rear fuselage.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/2/5/1/1715251-14709-85-720.jpg)
Deviating from the instructions, I glued the front and rear fuselage parts and the cargo compartment doors on each side.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/2/5/2/1715252-14709-44-720.jpg)
After some filling and sanding it looks pretty good. Engravings and details that were lost during sanding have been renewed.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/2/5/3/1715253-14709-78-720.jpg)
The glue seam on the cargo door is very thin. To stabilize it, I cut the marked part in half and glued it on each side.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/2/0/2/1716202-14709-75-720.jpg)
After a suitable indentation was scratched into the plastic, the first etched part could be glued on.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/2/6/8/1727268-14709-85-720.jpg)
All windows in the cargo hold are glued.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/8/0/1/1727801-14709-96-720.jpg)
A few etched parts were installed in the cockpit.

The fuselage halves are glued together.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/1/3/8/1737138-14709-44-720.jpg)
It had to be filled and sanded.
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/1/3/9/1737139-14709-69-720.jpg)
With the restored engravings it doesn't look bad, in one or two places it needs to be reworked.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/4/5/2/1740452-14709-45-720.jpg)
More parts glued to the fuselage.
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/4/5/1/1740451-14709-62-720.jpg)
After some filling, sanding and engraving it starts to look like a Mi-6.
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/1/6/4/1747164-14709-56-720.jpg)
I started adding details to the helicopter using Evergreen material.
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/1/6/5/1747165-14709-29-720.jpg)
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/1/6/6/1747166-14709-96-720.jpg)
The two power sockets next to the door are a feature of the Mi-6 VKP that Amodel completely forgot about.
![Album image #29 Album image #29](/albums/img/1/4/3/1748143-14709-39-720.jpg)
With more parts added, the VKP subversion of the Mi-6 starts to take shape.

Pimp my main rotor head...
![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/5/0/4/1749504-14709-20-720.jpg)
The entire assembly currently consists of 61 individual parts.
![Album image #33 Album image #33](/albums/img/1/5/8/1753158-14709-27-720.jpg)
37 parts later...
![Album image #34 Album image #34](/albums/img/1/5/9/1753159-14709-32-720.jpg)
... the tail rotor is ready for painting.
![Album image #35 Album image #35](/albums/img/2/7/8/1753278-14709-59-720.jpg)
Now the rotor blades were test-fitted to the rotor head and then everything was provisionally attached to the helicopter for the photo.

Starts to look like a Mil Mi-6? Well, then it's time to charge the teaser to a picture of your model. 😉

Joining in late, but sure worth it. Clean built on this "filling the gaps" giant. 👍

Q: The tiny "brass" colored tubes for the wiring on the main rotor head, are those bits of cut up syringe tips?

That rotor work is sick!
…but so is the PE cockpit work at this scale! Watching!
