[WIP] 1st day. Unboxing and Legs
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/9/9/3/1733993-129851-97-720.jpg)
Box is expectedly HUGE and won't fit on my tiny workspace.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/9/9/2/1733992-129851-72-720.jpg)
Tons of sprues inside.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/9/9/1/1733991-129851-58-720.jpg)
3(!!!) instruction manuals.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/9/9/4/1733994-129851-70-720.jpg)
Colored one is about the lore and specification of the Strike Rouge.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/9/9/6/1733996-129851-11-720.jpg)
Unfortunately my Japanese is very rudimentary so not so useful for me. At least the pictures are nice.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/9/9/5/1733995-129851-55-720.jpg)
Grayscaled ones are actually instruction for building the kit. One for Strike Rouge Gundam itself and other for the backpack and the support fighter jet.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/9/9/7/1733997-129851-22-720.jpg)
Typical Bandai instruction manual. (Which means it's good.)
They indicate what parts are used in each section, which was nice.

![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/9/9/8/1733998-129851-82-720.jpg)
Well I had to use both of my sprue stands to just organize the sprues.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/0/0/0/1734000-129851-75-720.jpg)
... Yet a few had to stay in the box. (Which I suspect are for the backpack and the fighter jet.)
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/9/9/9/1733999-129851-19-720.jpg)
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/0/0/1/1734001-129851-62-720.jpg)
Amount of removed plastic bags alone is astonishing.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/0/0/4/1734004-129851-32-720.jpg)
I have to swing left to pick up the sprues and swing back right to work on the kit I guess.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/0/0/9/1734009-129851-73-720.jpg)
These parts are just for the feet. Talk about overkill.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/0/1/0/1734010-129851-28-720.jpg)
Ankle joint alone is quite complicated. I love the chromed piston part. (Which have slight pink tone, which is a nice touch.)
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/0/1/1/1734011-129851-47-720.jpg)
Those are some nice inner detail.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/0/1/2/1734012-129851-53-720.jpg)
"Paw pads" are also color separated.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/0/1/3/1734013-129851-45-720.jpg)
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/0/1/4/1734014-129851-29-720.jpg)
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/0/1/5/1734015-129851-77-720.jpg)
I gave it parts a bit of panel lining with my trusty Copic marker.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/0/1/6/1734016-129851-81-720.jpg)
Guess I'll paint the kit later (someday) but having panel lines done looks miles better even with a snap build.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/0/1/7/1734017-129851-44-720.jpg)
Upper part of the legs. (Thigh-Knee) Notice the black parts, which is a painted metal part.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/0/1/8/1734018-129851-53-720.jpg)
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/0/1/9/1734019-129851-33-720.jpg)
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/0/2/0/1734020-129851-87-720.jpg)
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/0/2/1/1734021-129851-19-720.jpg)
Kneedcaps have the usual articulation ala MG kits but are much more detailed and intricate.
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/0/2/2/1734022-129851-42-720.jpg)
Parts for the calves.
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/0/2/3/1734023-129851-17-720.jpg)
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/0/2/4/1734024-129851-83-720.jpg)

![Album image #30 Album image #30](/albums/img/0/2/6/1734026-129851-32-720.jpg)
![Album image #31 Album image #31](/albums/img/0/2/7/1734027-129851-24-720.jpg)
![Album image #32 Album image #32](/albums/img/0/2/8/1734028-129851-56-720.jpg)
![Album image #33 Album image #33](/albums/img/0/2/9/1734029-129851-50-720.jpg)
![Album image #34 Album image #34](/albums/img/0/3/0/1734030-129851-41-720.jpg)
Love the details. Ankle joint can also swing sideways thanks to "muscles" on both sides of the calf.
![Album image #35 Album image #35](/albums/img/0/3/1/1734031-129851-95-720.jpg)
Combining all the parts and putting the outer shell.
![Album image #36 Album image #36](/albums/img/0/3/2/1734032-129851-33-720.jpg)
![Album image #37 Album image #37](/albums/img/0/3/3/1734033-129851-36-720.jpg)
Have some great freedom of movement on all the joints. Looking good.

Album info
My first Perfect Grade kit.
To be honest, I was not impressed when I saw finished kits displayed at my local Gundam Base. They looked just like bigger MG kits.
But actually building and handling the thing is a whole another matter. Many intricate detail and mechanics are hidden behind outer armor. Can't believe this kit is 20 years old!
Took almost a day just doing the legs. (Ofc I didn't spend the whole time building. For pure build time it'd be something like 6h.)
