Beaufighter Mk.21 RAAF A8-124 (NOVO\FROG)
Here we have a complete kit assembled from several different kits (plastic in 4 colors) and an old decal from Travers.
I thought it would be a simple quick build. But when I got a closer look at the details of the hoods... I tried to "depict" air-cooled blinds - it didn't work out very well, let it be as it will be.
I got distracted and put the partition in the cabin in the wrong place. 🙂
After applying the black primer, something like an airplane appears. 🙂
So, the first attempt at weathering was not entirely successful. I didn't quite get the color right either.
With weapons, it already looks more serious.
Decals are applied. She's officially Marge now.
"Marge" is almost ready. There are some small things left to do.
"Marge" is finished.

I want to say that the kit itself is not bad. I liked assembling it, but the quality of the product, which was manufactured in the USSR, is just terrible! I feel sorry for Soviet modelers. Perhaps, I should have looked for an original FROG kit.

Those parts of the kit that were made of green plastic are VERY FRAGILE and do not glue well. Apparently, this is the famous Soviet polystyrene with a yield coefficient of about 4 units (FROG used plastic at least 30).

Here, I have moved slightly away from the "canons" of Soviet modelers and am making this "Beaufighter" with bombs, without a torpedo. This is a big "sin", by the standards of Soviet modelers from the 80s. 🙂

There were great doubts about the successful application of the decals. They were quite old (about 30 years old), and previously, I had had a bad experience with Travers decals, but everything went well. I'm glad about that.

Despite the not very good start, I liked the result itself and did not regret the time spent on this kit.
