That's a winner! Phantastic paint job. Even in acryl the faces of the crew look very god to me. I would be glad, if I would come a bit close to it...

Yeah, that's really a nice add-on! What did you use for it? Wire? The rope also looks good. What kind of thread did you use?

Frank, the grill is made from thin wire.And the thread is normal sewing thread in a brown color with a dark wash dipped in thined whiteglue.

Wonderful paint-job you did here!
As I wrote previously the tank painting tells a story. So full of live and so many nuances, superb!!
The figures are also very skilful painted. The first picture is mind blowing, I agree with Steve, thought it is a real one, wow! The driver was bit nerved? He looks like: Ooh no and again a picture, kill the guy with the big camera in front! 🙂
The daylight isn`t so bad, the full sun is often too bright and blends all the different shadings. It`s ok so, like the real thing.
So many little features, holy crab. The BBC grill is the burner, 🙂
Btw, I will be in Veldhoven.

I am allways suprised that the figures are judged for good ,because the Figures i am allways afraid off.(i didnt even decided which technic i will use ,oil or acrylic.this time i used acrylics in thin layers because i wanted the figures ready for the KMK.And oil takes longer to dry and i overspray the faces with a matt varnish when i use oils because of their gloss look.

Markus, don´t care so much about videos of other people. Do it your own style. It´s is important that you are satisfied with the result. The rest is fashion which comes and goes. In the 80 ties and 90 ties it was Verlinden Style which did not look realistic due to my opinion, now it is ( I don´t know what style) 🙂
and most importatnt: patience is the key

I agree with ,Chris.When u got an own style that can allways be identified (like a Mig Model or Wilder)its the best that can happen to you.
And yes ,iam satisfied with the result (i was very close to the "Modelling Blues").Because of that i decided that the Dio has to wait for the Pershing.It would be only hastily put together(i know me 🙂
@Dirk
you can get it here....

That fits Perfect,Mate!
@Chris
I am no fan of intense Drybrushing,it looks to light for me.Perhaps a little on the Stowage to make it more interesting.Like my wife says ,if its overdone it looks to much like "Plastic"😭i know ,that is what its made of).But in my opinion it should more look like worn Steel.Than i prefer more the colormodulation wich got more richness.
@Dave
The tank Commander is an Alpine Figure,the Radio Operator is one from S&T (John Rosengrant )wich in my opinion is one of the best Figure modeller (check this out..

This Dio is one of my References if it comes to dynamic ,dramatic and perfect figures.
(perhaps someday i will get there!!...I know..........Paaaaaatttiiieeenncceeeeee!! 🙂
The driver has a body i dont know (you dont see much of that either way)with a Hornet Head.
Again ,thanks Mates for all your motivating comments.! :-D

Don't get me wrong Markus, as I think you have modelled a fantastic replica here... But I'm particularly impressed with the kit bags and bedrolls in the last picture. Did you make these yourself from scratch? or did they come as part of the kit?

Thats totaly on the point Steve.That is why i hardly can understand ,that some modellers sell their models .
You spend hours of time(and perhaps money with all the aftermarket kits),and give it away.
Dont anyone tell me ,its a matter of how high the price is!I will lend it to a museum or so but never sell!

I`ve seen these amazing model in real yesterday in Eindhoven. And hey, it is really a beauty, so well built and the paint job is in real absolutely mind-blowing. I examined more than one time this masterpiece. This model deserved a trophy!!!
Wonderful work!!
In addition to your previous discussion about selling models.
Pls, let me show you another side of the medal. I don`t have a lot of space for all my built models. No museum nor any other institution was disposed to exhibit my models. So I was constrained to sell some of my gems. The most new owner have estimated my models! One of them is Christian Meyerhoff ( he is a SM Mate) and I`m proud that he like my model !! 🙂
So, sometimes life dictated no easy ways to go... 🙂

Dont forget to add the Higlights and Shadows in very diluted layers.Though acrylics dry very fast i reduce the drying time by hairdryer (so you see in seconds the result).Have patience (something i have to learn too) to add layer after layer.And check your result after a few steps in Daylight!

@Markus
Diluted thin layers of color, a bit like you do with Pre-Shade/Post Shade Technique of tanks and planes!... I did not know this! Great, the first painting of a figure I try this technique. thanks

Sieht toll aus.
Meiner ist noch in Rohbau. Jetzt hab ich allerdings einen SOSOLLSSEIN MARKER 🙂
GreenStuff sollte ich mir auch mal zulegen.

Hi Mates
Thats my Pershing with his very tired Crew at the End of the War.
My first try with painting only faces with acrylics (because time was short to the next exhibition).I will on further Figures stay by the Oil technic of painting faces.Iam more a fan of blending then to put many layers of high diluted Acrylics to the face.Perhaps i give it someday a new try.
Hope you enjoy the Pics.
