Whoa! I started this while I was waiting for the Dakota to dry one coat of paint or another. Now it's ahead of the pix. I'll have to get some tonight. I now have an assembled craft (without the floats or canopy).

Wow...That was fast. I bypassed the Dakota, waiting for all its various shades to be applied and then dry. That Imperial Japanese Navy green is daaaaark. The colors (but for the screaming yellow) come as glass finish, so I need not do the Future coat before decal application...but I probably will anyway.

That's three coats of green, by the way. I was just looking closely at it (now that it is dry enough to handle), and I see that I could probably put anothe coat on the upper wing surfaces.
I think it looks pretty 'ripped' with the gloss black engine cowl and screaming yellow leading edges. And the center canopy section slides back so you can look down and see the pilot sitting on his crossbar.
