I plan to build this Tamiya kit OOB. Somewhere along the line I lost the fun building straith from the box, and you just can't build every single model as a superdetailed model.
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/5/7/8/85578-10911-53-720.jpg)
So this will be a relaxing build in which I follow the building instructions very closely.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/5/7/9/85579-10911-88-720.jpg)
First I paint the suspension parts, following the Tamiya color guide closely.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/5/8/0/85580-10911-81-720.jpg)
I only gave the whole chassis a wash with Smoke once completed.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/5/8/1/85581-10911-61-720.jpg)
Next up are the black protection plates and the rims.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/5/8/2/85582-10911-25-720.jpg)
Just be aware of the fact that the tires patterns are not symmetrical...
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/5/8/3/85583-10911-14-720.jpg)
This is a simple kit but still the chassis looks pretty busy once completed.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/5/8/4/85584-10911-22-720.jpg)
Of course, none of this will be visible once the car is put on it's wheels...
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/5/8/5/85585-10911-14-720.jpg)
There you go! The car has been put on it's 4 wheels.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/5/8/6/85586-10911-89-720.jpg)
Other shot of the chassis.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/5/8/7/85587-10911-19-720.jpg)
Meanwhile I sprayed the body, first in grey primer, then in Ts-17 gloss aluminium and last but not least 2 coats of clear coat.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/5/8/8/85588-10911-40-720.jpg)
This body will have time to dry for a few days now.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/5/8/9/85589-10911-78-720.jpg)
Once dry I will polish it thouroughly.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/5/9/0/85590-10911-14-720.jpg)
But for now, just enjoy the Porsche lines 😉
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/5/9/1/85591-10911-40-720.jpg)
I carefully dryfitted the (wet) body onto the finished chassis...
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/5/9/2/85592-10911-78-720.jpg)
The ride height looks good to me. This is the 5th generation of Porsche 911 of which today 7 generations exist.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/5/7/6/86576-10911-10-720.jpg)
Now I started to build the interior. First all the parts were detail painted.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/5/7/7/86577-10911-82-720.jpg)
Next I decided to leave the carpet floor lining behind and I replaced it by Scale Fabric (by Tenco Proto).
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/5/7/8/86578-10911-24-720.jpg)
I also added vertical uprights to the interior hub to be able to fix the seat belts.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/5/7/9/86579-10911-51-720.jpg)
The red seat belts give a nice color touch to the otherwise gray/black interior.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/6/1/6/88616-10911-66-720.jpg)
I installed the interior onto the chassis and I put the bodywork on top.

Let's hope that the window frames match my homemade supports perfectly... Fingers crossed...

I started another project, which I will try to keep as close as possible to an 'OOB' build...
