The kit is not a Tamiya kit, but the detail is pretty good and the fit not that bad! 🙂
Especially the cockpit is rather nice out of the box.

Yes, me as well ! I love these early Jumo powered 109s, and the Comnor markings make real refreshing difference to the " usual " camo schemes.

Mates, maybe you can help me with a question:
I'm in doubt about the title of the vignette, "holiday in Spain". Although the weather in Spain is really nice and Lt. Resch is relaxing in the sun, maybe "holiday in Spain" can be a bit offending to our Spanish mates?
I'm aware of the fact that any armed conflict is not really a 'holiday', but the setting -Spain, sun, relax chair and a box of oranges (still to be made)- made me think of this popular Dutch pop song.

@ Ricardo: Thanks for the suggestion, I will consider it
@ Bart: During 1938, new wings with factory applied RLM70/71 were mounted on several Condor Legion 109's (including 6o42) for testing. The dark colours were no succes in the dry (thus light) landscape of Spain, so most were painted over with the fuselage colour in the field.
Which brings us to the RLM02/RLM63 swamp 🙂
I lighted Gunze RLM02 with white so that it looked pleasing to my eye and matched the colour profiles in the Osprey publication on the Bf109 A to D series.

A quick question Kees: What is your reference for the protruding exhaust stubs? I thought the 109B's had flush exhaust openings?

And not to start a lengthy discussion about "what is right" but I just don't recall seeing it before....so I wish to learn 😉

Wim, no problem. It seems I'm dealing with a '109 crack' here, so it's my honour to 'learn' you something. But for a quick question, it's gonna be a rather long answer though! 😉
My reference -as with many modelers?- started with the 'Bf109 in action series', in which it is clearly stated that the Bertha had flush exhaust stubs. But then I saw a model by Jean Gratton on Hyperscale
hsfeatures.com/features04/bf109b2jg_1.htm which had the short stubs.
From there my investigation started as also I thought the B had flush exhausts. I started reading several forums on Condor Legion 109's, especially the contributions of Lynn Ritger.
This for one makes the 'in action' partly obsolete, as there existed (hold on to your seat) no B-1/B-2 subvariants!
Apparently, before the introduction of the protruding (swept back) exhausts on the C model, some B models also had protruding exhausts as a technical trial, but straigt and less protruding.
The short stubs are also included in the 1/32 conversion set by Ally Cat (wishlist! 😉) hyperscale.com/2007/..c32134reviewbg_1.htm
Hope this made it some clearer for you Wim, if not, let me know!
happy modelling.
