Humber Mk.II
Yorumlar
i like those matchbox-era-kits a lot! although they can be a tough build by todays standards! you turned that humber into a real eyecatcher!
Thank you all for the comments 🙂 As I recently bought some reissues by Revell, I must say that they keep these moulds in a nice shape. And the only real weakpoint are those vinyl/rubber tracks...
Album info
First rebuilt Matchbox kit in my collection. I got this one in its second version - still Matchbox packaging and their mould stamps.
It stood the test of time (and its fair share of exhibition on a shelf) quite well. I believe it was mostly due to the all plastic nature of the kit, without any vinyl.
The only things I had to scratch were: turret searchlight, shock absorber end and two mirrors (which I had all the time and they vanished mysteriously after priming the kit...)
The decals are from the spares from other Matchbox veteran as the original ones didn't stand the test of time and lack of varnish.
I decided to go quite heavy on the chipping - maybe it's not 100% historically relevant but it really brings such a small shape to life and defines it to the eye.
The base is original and after painting, only treated with Sand Deposits from AK.
