I started with the undercarriage. For an old kit there's an amazing amount of details, but I found some cornders to work on.

To acquire a brake drum for the Sovereign2000 resin wheels, designed for the AFV kit, I had to demolish the overscale Tamiya wheels. But I kept the bolts, that looked a lot better than the resin ones. Now the seven other wheels...

Five out of eight wheels are taken apart. The hardest to do is scribing a line around the hubs.

Welcome, Rui. Today I added the welding lines from Part, because there are none in the kit.

I decided to follow a tip I got on Modelbrouwers and to remove all PE again. It appears to look a lot better if you bend the lines like an L-profile. Only, it's difficult to bend if it's as narrow as a millimeter. I use a small hammer for that.

Thank you, guys! Some PE is added and some plastic had to be removed around the entrance hatch.

Work is starting to pay off until the attack of the little lizards, hope they don't chew on your model.

Thanks, Dave, they're doing fine still but they prefer tiny bugs. I just added a large update with comparison pictures on the barrels, distance poles, additional stowage box and direction indicator protection bars.

Today the fuel tanks are added. Voyager made them oddly tiny, I think.

I found some Hobbyfan Sd.Kfz.231 figures in a store. One doesn't fit very well, maybe the Tamiya turret ring is wrong?

Thanks, Urban. I had to replace the boxspring antenna. Soldering didn't work, it never does with me, so I glued it.

Try this product then! Just dab a click of the paste where you want to solder and then put the flame from a ordinary lighter next to it.

I tackled the resin figure misfit by altering the turret ring opening, this is easier than changing the figure and it won't show. A nice addition by Voyager are the muffler covers and some large chests.

What are those two rods with the ball on top, by the front wheels? Anybody know?

Wondeful 8 Rad ! Looks amazing. The only thing, i dont like are the weld seams. The look too prominent to me. just my 2 cent´s.

Thanks for the nice comments. These are the smallest weld beads that I had in my PE-set, off course the ideal situation would be that a AFV kit would be used as base model so you wouldn't have to file off the edges, ply the beads and get them glued straight. In the mean time I sprayed the kit sand brown. The paint can brand is Fosco.

The Mr.Hobby paint went on the 8-Rad, with some shadows and highlights. The last pictures show the results in daylight.

I decided to cover up the grainy texture on the hull paint by applying a winter camouflage. I bought a can of hairspray to make it look worn. I also removed the paint from one of the figures because I succeded in priming the other one much finer, and it didn't have to be green like it was painted Feldgrau with other German figures. I'll just paint it Panzer black.
