Spitfire V Progress
All the bits and pieces, almost 😉..
Cockpit is finished! 🙂 The green is Tamiya XF-71. Silver is Mr.Color SM01.
All PE is from the Eduard pack.
Preshading.
Masking for the second camo color.
I used Tamiya XF-59 and XF-82 for the camo. Underside is XF-80.
It is finished!
I attached a piece of aluminium foil as a mirror after I took this picture.
I had to carve out the exhausts as they were solid in the kit.
The kit did not have riveting detail. I did that in a previous stage.
The Eduard kit came with break lines for the landing gear.
Picture showing the area where I had problems with the alignment of the landing gear.
Picture showing the design of the landing gear construction.
Hard to align and easy to break off..

I've started another Spitfire. This time it is a Spit V in desert camoflage.

You're welcome David! It's a really nice kit. Good details and looked to be a nice fit when I tested it.

Thank you Spanjaard and David! 🙂
A little update. The cockpit is finished. I've also sealed the plane and painted the base camoflage. I really like how easy this kit has been to build. 🙂

The Spit Vb is finished. As I said before, a really nice kit. The only gripe I have with it is the attachment of the landing gear.It was very hard to get it to sit right, and I managed to break it off a couple of times during weathering. (I'm still not sure it is sitting as it should..). Otherwise I highly enjoyed building it. 🙂

No worries Björn, it looks still really great without rigging😉
Btw: What do you think of this kit?

I really liked the kit. It was easy to build and had really nice detail. The only thing I had a problem with was the alignment of the landing gear. The construction was over-complicated in my opinion, but it was still just a minor problem. I added some pictures to show the problem area.

Ok that sounds good and the point with the landing gear seems manageable😉 Thx for sharing.
