HobbyLink International 75th Anny GB John W. Brown
Waterline hull together & clamped - not that it was warped or anything. I just felt the need to clamp something...
Hull and deck together & burnished down.
Starting to look like a proper ship now!
Stopped for today before I dropped & lost a really, really small part!
She is starting to look shipshape!
It would not be 'scale modeling' without filling in ejector pin & sink marks now would it!
Got the stern gun tub that I screwed up removing from the sprue tree fixed.
Coming along. Just got the small vents, davits, masts & armament to install.
Stern view. Good tweezers are a must!
Managed to get about half of the tiny azz little vents on!
A few pieces at a time. Parts so small you have to hold them with tweezers to do the final clean-up. And then I let one go flying so I spent 20 minutes on the floor looking for it!! Doghouse (?) vent funnels done!
Coming down to the home stretch as far as assembly is concerned.
Forgot to post this update last night. Just need to install the weapons, the large life rafts & the liberty/launch boats. Will be painting those separately and adding them.
Starting to look 'Haze Gray' like it's underway!
Preliminary painting almost done. Starting to look seaworthy!
Managed to get the waterline boot on my Trumpy 1/700 John W. Brown done. A few more paint items & some cargo and it will be ready for fading, weathering & rigging!
Picked up some L'Arsenal stuff to load up my Liberty Ship. Here are some Churchill Tanks that I added some main gun barrels to with .33mm Brass Rod.
Here are the Churchill tanks on the deck of the John W. Brown.
Finally got some decals on this ship!
A stern shot included for you all that like looking at tails! ;-P
Forgot to post an update on this over the weekend. Got the ship clear coated and containers & Churchill tanks primed.
Small update - literally & figuratively! Got the Stuart Light Tanks and Humber Armored Cars primed.
Work continues at a frantic glacial pace on this ship. Got the first matt coat on and the Spitfires, Stuarts & Humber Armored Cars Painted.
Got the Jeeps, Churchills and top of the Spitfires painted today.
Finally got some transporter containers on the deck. Picked them up for this build, they are the L'Arsenal 'Cargo Tins' of which you get 270 of them! I will only be using about 25 on this kit.
Finished attaching the transport containers. I was going to give it another coat of flat clear but my airbrush/compressor set-up did not want to cooperate!
Getting the last bits added.
Getting the rigging & control cables done I had a 'senior moment' and my ham paw snapped off one of the forwardmost crane booms. Very luckily, I was able to glue it back out without any fuss - in fact, I was going to wait to put the boom cables on the two most forward cranes but I couldn't remember which one I had broken off - AND I couldn't tell!
While I did not do ALL the rigging & control cables, I think it looks the part.
I still need to put on the very last, sternmost aerial but relieved it went better than expected!
Finally got the rigging finished & the LCM glued to the fwd part.
Boy those decals are small!
Not too much more and the ship will be done. Just have to work on the display base!

Will you add some rigging wire to it? Unsure what people do with that in 1:700 scale.
