1985 Fiero GT - wip
This is it. The next candidate to overhaul 😉
A little touchup will be done here
Not that much to lay my hands on.
The first step is done. Taking it apart as good as it goes.
The bodyparts are Ready to paint. Before that, I sanded the moldinglines down. That was not bad at all but they were here and there.
The paint job is done. I took red, mixed in some gold and aluminium. I thought the color should be darker. The metallic is so smooth. Hard to see, even harder to catch with the camera
I'm really not sure with the color. After a wet sanding and another layer of clear cote I'll decide what to do.
Painted the trim satin black.
Painted the details.
Without searching the internet for details, I'm satisfied with it so far.
Here it is 🙂 Sweet. Like it a lot.
Did some painting on the chassis too. I only worked with gloss and semi gloss black.

Thank you 🙂 You know: when you build and build still on the same kit there cones a point to get something different on the bench and get something done.

Paint job done. My intention was a darker red. But with the mixing with a little gold metallic, it looks like blood orange or kind of.

Paint looks fine. For me it's the silver and white along the bottom that gives it life.

Thank you Nigel. This two tone painting was fixed on the to do list from the day, I washed all my shelf sitters. Regarding the boxart, it was all good as possible done that time, I've built it. But today I like the two tone because of that, you've written.

I love that car, I think you are doing her justice..😉
May I ask, what lines of primers and paints you're using?

@Bob … Patrick Star rocks 😄
@JD … For this one I used a light grey primer out of a rattle can. I can't tell you at the point, which one it was. I have to look in my shelf and tell you later the day. I think it was "Presto" (Germany).
The color itself is enamel by Revell painted with my 0.3 airbrush. I mixed red #330 with a little bit silver #90 and a little more of gold #94. The gold and silver turned the red into that dark orange.
The silver on the skirts are enamel by Revell (silver #90).
The clear cote is out of the rattle can from "K" (Kwasny / Germany).

Ah, enamels.. Very cool! I've been wanting to airbrush enamels for awhile now, but I need to upgrade my spray booth first. She's looking sexy!

Album info
A quick restoration.
Since years it sits in the shelf without paint on it. The interior and chassis is acceptable. But not the Body paint. There is no paint at all. So I decided to grab it and give it a nicer look.
