Blohm & Voss
This kit has been around in one form or another for several decades now.
These sink holes, and others like them, can not be ignored.
First dry fit looks alright, but the main hull will need additional work to fit properly.
Main deck and hull joined. This needed a lot of scraping, sanding, filing and cutting to make it fit and it is still not perfect. Hopefully the paint will cover up the remaining imperfections.
The two tiny Arado 196 recon planes.
A bit more painting until its ready for final assemby.
And done. I went with a paint scheme based on what can be found at kbismarck.com/drawings.html for how she looked like on 21 Mai 1941. I feel it is the most colourful version without being too difficult. Earlier patterns would have required to draw the black and white stripes along the superstructure and I realley didn't feel like I could accomplish that.
I removed the rangefinder of Anton-turret to get closer to historical accuracy, however, as can be seen I chose to omit a certain symbol. Doesn't have to be too accurate.
