(COMPLETED) But, where are you going? The Krauts are over there!

*** A BIT OF FLUFF ***
The story so far…
Some day in June 1940, on a rural road not too far from the front.
About an hour ago, a cart wheel of the trek of French exiles had needed to be replaced. As the makeshift wheel wasn't as sturdy as the original one, a few items such as a a fresh milk pail had been discarded on the road amidst a number of other debris and refuse.
At present, two stragglers of the same trek, a lady with her mother, having lost most of their belongings during a German strafing run, arrive at the same place. Here, they meet two apparently lost soldiers, fleeing the front.
An armoured carrier with its trailer careens towards them, hitting the milk pail that splashed everyone with milk and flies over the street. One of the men in the UE asks the retreating soldier where the next HQ would be, whereas the soldier answers by pointing in the general direction of the rear.
Incensed by the milk incident and the defeatism of the soldiers, the lady starts to insult them, arguing loudly that the front is the other way and that they should be ashamed!
("But where are you going? The Krauts are over there!" or, in French "Mais où allez-vous? Les Boches sont par là!"😢
All the while, the older lady is crying over the spilled milk...

I managed to incorporate quite a few of my mistakes into the narrative for this diorama. Of course, it looks much better IRL than in the pictures...😉
One more proof the women are not too good with map reading and orientation...
Olivier, please don't say that out loud in front of my wife!😉
