Overhead view of bristol A7231 in service of Jasta 5 with the big text on the wings notifying other German soldiers it is a friendly aircraft

Another nice view on A7231. The cowling most likely was left in its original colours. The fuselage has a painted band on the place of the roundel and the rudder is painted over. We'll around the aircraft the British roundel has been overpainted with German crosses.

And so it begins. Most of the cockpit internals ready for primer and paint. Still need to scratchbuilt a wiring loom for the left fuselage side as I managed to loose the pe bit

Started painting the cockpit. Here a view of the cockpit floor. Painted wood with humbrol enamel. All the fixtures and fueltank painted

Cockpit sides. Left the linen colour and wooden frame blocked in. Right a few steps further. The rigging is not my best but from what is visible through the cockpit opening it is sufficient for this built.

Slowly working my way through the cockpit. Decided to paint the molded wires instead of scraping them out and replacing them. Once the seat and the gunners mg ring are installed they will be pretty hard to see so it will do.

Tiny wicker seat from the eduard pe set painted up. Fun painting exercise

Album info
Came across this very interesting version of the Bristol F.2b A7231. As the story goes it was brought down by Karl Bey of Jasta 5. The aircraft couldn't return fire anymore so he commanded it down
Bristol F2B A7231 of No. 11 Sqn. crewed by 2Lt E Scholtz and 2Lt HC Wookey.
Their Bristol was in very good shape and was appropriated by Jasta 5. "Under new management" It was repainted with German insignia and humor ... “Nicht Schiessen! Gute Leute ”(Don’t Shoot! Good People) on top of the wings
