From another angle.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/5/6/7/1276567-97204-81-720.jpg)
First thin layer of the XF89 Dark Green 2 by Tamiya. Since there is no solid evidence of the color of the vehicle, general agreement over the interwebz is that it was "some darker green".
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/5/6/8/1276568-97204-43-720.jpg)
After 3 layers of green, I achieved the look I wanted.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/5/7/0/1276570-97204-32-720.jpg)
The kit's decals were unusable. So, from an image I found online, I painted the marking freehand. But practice first!
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/5/6/9/1276569-97204-24-720.jpg)
On both sides I enclosed the area for the marking, creating a kind of canvas.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/5/7/1/1276571-97204-45-720.jpg)
This is the first try with AK weathering pencils.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/5/7/2/1276572-97204-57-720.jpg)
Backside. Highlighted the top edges with buff.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/5/7/3/1276573-97204-51-720.jpg)
Chipping, lighter green, then Mecha Chipping color painted on the inside.

Dotfilter...
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/5/7/5/1276575-97204-42-720.jpg)
...applied.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/5/7/6/1276576-97204-97-720.jpg)
The huge flat surfaces were bothering me on the front and sides, so I decided to give it a bit of interest. Should've done this prior to painting, but meh.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/5/7/7/1276577-97204-25-720.jpg)
Side & front track racks in place. Material is 0.15 brass sheet.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/5/7/8/1276578-97204-90-720.jpg)
Because I used RFM's excellent aftermarket tracks, the kit supplied pieces were surplus. So, I felt free to practice painting and weathering them, following Uncle NightShift's videos.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/5/7/9/1276579-97204-31-720.jpg)
Field created side skirts. Same 0.15 sheet.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/5/8/1/1276581-97204-49-720.jpg)
5 of them.
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/5/8/2/1276582-97204-42-720.jpg)
Base gray of the exhaust.
![Album image #20 Album image #20](/albums/img/5/8/0/1276580-97204-96-720.jpg)
The exhaust was again painted in a new way, also from NS' videos.
![Album image #21 Album image #21](/albums/img/5/8/3/1276583-97204-57-720.jpg)
Sponge and AK pencils were used here.
![Album image #22 Album image #22](/albums/img/5/8/4/1276584-97204-57-720.jpg)
Tracks....
![Album image #23 Album image #23](/albums/img/5/8/5/1276585-97204-55-720.jpg)
...and tracks again. Pigments applied dry & wet.
![Album image #24 Album image #24](/albums/img/5/8/6/1276586-97204-45-720.jpg)
To give them a metallic sheen, I used this very magic tool (pencil).
![Album image #25 Album image #25](/albums/img/5/8/7/1276587-97204-88-720.jpg)
Doesn't look to bad, right?
![Album image #26 Album image #26](/albums/img/5/8/8/1276588-97204-80-720.jpg)
Weathering the underside, again with pigments.
![Album image #27 Album image #27](/albums/img/5/8/9/1276589-97204-27-720.jpg)
So, tracks applied, hooray!
![Album image #28 Album image #28](/albums/img/5/9/0/1276590-97204-54-720.jpg)
