BM-24-12
let's take a break from tanks and build a truck! got this version of Katyusha based on a Zil-157 to play with
it seems to be an old kit, lots of flash and some sprews are numbered while others aren't (generic Zil-157 parts vs BM-24-12?)
still, quite a lot of detail for 72 scale. I particularly like the fact that the suspension and drivetrain are modeled

This was fun to build - really interesting to see how the drivetrain of a Zil truck works
the instructions said not to use the dashboard pieces but I can do whatever I want 🙂
sticking some blu tack to raise the interior of the cabin. This way it will sit more naturally when assembled
if you squint you might be able to see the interior
this is how the front wheel should sit in the wheel arch. But with the rear platform pushing the cabin too far forward, I had to make some drastic changes
and here they are - the drastic changes. Making more room for the wheels so that the platform can be shifted further back and everything sits more naturally
I probably won't be cleaning up the cabin roof (it looked even worse originally) since I will be adding the shields to it
the rocket system winch
the rocket system frame after some basic flash cleanup - it might need a bit more sanding
the instructions are pretty bad - but at some point you just start winging it
the rockets after assembly and some basic sanding
