The diorama base is 10mm acrylic sheet, the sides are thinner sheet acrylic. The base was tested for water leaks prior to project start. This was to ensure that the liquid resin did not escape.
The rocks are real, found on a beach locally.

The river bed is plasticine, shaped for contours and then airbrushed with acrylics. I used acrylic water based paints throughput the project.

The boat kit engines were replaced by Reskit gas turbine helicopter engines, only because I thought they looked cool and I wanted to have a go at building them.

The water effect resin pour would make or break the diorama, and a leap of faith was needed as it was the first time I attempted resin effects. The foam ‘wave’ was achieved by a second resin pour, and rounded blobs of plasticine used to create the bubbles as the resin cured. These were removed and cleaned after the resin hardened and then painted with white acrylic oils.
