That kit is not too bad. I left off the bomb release, and drilled out all the holes in the dive brakes with my pin vice.

Alignment looks good so far but interior lacks a lot of detail. Nevertheless I'm making a strong effort to clear my stash of all Revell kits.

Not all revell kits are tooled by the devil himself 😉 I like the SBD a lot....but I'm not buying another kit untill I've completed at least 5 kits from my stash (or so I keep telling myself )

But you will admit the devil does work for Revell? Right Wim?

Not until they moved production to China. They used to have some really nice kits, especially the 1/48th WW2 Bombers. They discontinued their B-58 Hustler. If you run across one I would grab it. It is a beautiful model of a very neat aircraft. I added cockpit detail to my Dauntless out of the scrap box.

they also sell a lot of stuff from other companies. The Seafire I'm now building is a reboxing of a special hobby kit, I have a 109 that is from ICM originally...careful checking of a kits timeline will pay off I guess

But I'm talking about Revell from Germany now...

I recently build the 1/48 PV-1 from revell and it is not bad at all. Ther are also more company's who rebox kits i.e Italeri/Tamiya where Tamiya has reboxed some Italeri kitsI also tried what Wim suggests first building a couple kits from the stash before buying another i tried that as well however I confess that I switched from buying kits to buying extra details for the kits already in the stash but would you expect from an severe plastic addict like me. So it is time to start more building or cleaning up the stash once again(ouch that hurts)
But again with all the new exciting releases that are announced I think(know) that there will be more purchases this year. Luckily I have the full support of my wife she puts it very simply I rather have you building or airbrushing a portrait that that for instance spend of it on other things bad for the health

Clifford, the B-58 does look like a great plane. Pricing I'm seeing for it is at $100.00. As far as Revell goes, when I got back into the hobby, all I bought was Revell kits from a craft store, it's all they carried. When I modeled in my younger days I built cars only. Knowing what I do now, I would have never bought as many as I did. My experience for the most part has not been good, quality just isn't there. Out of all the Revell kits I have the only one that looks to be of decent quality, is the F-15E Strike Eagle.

Just a couple of pictures, nothing much.

Revell's F-15E is an excellent kit. I saw the B-58 for 39.00 the other day. I think it was internet hobbies, guss they still have some in stock. Untill I joined scalemates, revel/monogram were the only kits I had ever built. My buddy introduced me to the finer kits.-

Base Colors are done! A little paint here and there and she'll be ready for decals. Next update, plane will be sporting its markings. In regards to the paint the pictures don't really show color transition but it is there, color call outs for top and bottom are very similar.
