Not sure if I want to do a ROK Rhino in Compass Gray or an IIAF bird. Will have to give it some slats and a decent cockpit but I have plenty of leftover Academy & Hasegawa parts fortunately.

Found out the first 31 Iranian F-4Es (69-7711 to 69-7742), delivered during 1971-72, were hard-winged. They were coded IIAF 3-633 to IIAF 3-664 respectively. They received Leading Edge Slats as an update during the 1975~1976 time frame.
All other F-4Es later delivered to Iran had slated wings.
Makes my job so much easier & this kit (with some cockpit & nozzle updates) is just fine for that scheme.

Hey Calvin, sounds like another outstanding project. I have the same kit and plan on an F-4E with the 32nd TFS, 17th AF, Soesterberg AB, NL circa 1971-72. Looking forward to seeing how you tackle the build. I bought an Eduard PE cockpit set to put on the otherwise flat pannels. K/r, Dutch

Great minds think alike! ;-P Between some repurposed Hasegawa bang seats, PE and scratch I think the pilot office will look pretty good from a couple of feet away.

I did not realize until just now that the Eduard Zoom set for this bird is rather anemic...

Ayuh! I too plan on using some AM [True Details?] bang seats. I have the Hi-Decal 1/48 F-4D sheet and will use it on a Monogram C/D for the IIAF. Carry on, brother!

Nice. The only thing I do now to my R/M F-4 kits most of the time is rescribe and add Steel Beach Intakes & Flame Holders. Sometimes AM decals. :-D
