Rommels instrument of deception

In its book "Foxes of the Desert",Paul Carrel mentions several times that Rommel used trophy trucks with mounted aircraft engines. Their primary goal was to raise dust clouds and fool the enemy large armored columns are moving through the desert.
These Windwagens(wind wagons) were used in the first(April 1941) and the second(October 1941) advance on Tobruk and their presence with the Italian forces in the north at the battle of Gazalla(May 1942) covered the pincer movement Rommel's Panzer Divisions made to the south.
A picture of a Windwagen appeared in AHF in late 2019, showing a Beute Bedford MWD with an Argus AS-10c engine mounted on its back.
